Museum of Fine Arts is located in the former building of the State Bank, which was built in 1912 in the European style by the Russian architects Sakovich and Margolis. The building has a complex architectural composition and built over the bed of the city canal Shakhrud. The building has architectural and urban planning and historical value as a monument of early colonial buildings of XX century. The branch of Azov-Don Bank and the brand store of the Russian industrialist and philanthropist Savva Morozov held upper floor passage.
Since 1982, a branch of the Bukhara State Architectural-Artistic museum-preserve – the Museum of Fine Arts is located here. In the museum you can get acquainted with the expositions of arts and crafts. The exhibition of fine arts (Art Gallery) there are the works of talented painters, sculptors and graphic artists of Uzbekistan.
Formation of the collections of art in the museum reserve can be traced to 1932. Most of the exhibits came to the museum after the Republican art exhibitions in the period from 1932 to 1965. Among them there are unique works of masters of the brush:
The gallery showcases the best works of famous Bukhara artists, painters, sculptors, graphics N.Hafizova, H.Babaeva, M.Sadykova A. Barnoeva, Norhurozova, B. Salomova, Z. Saidzhanova, H. Babayev, the miniatures of people’s artist of Uzbekistan Sadriddin Pochchaev et al.
